Peter received a 911 call from a nursing home. An elderly man that is 61 years old, is lying on his bed. He has good skin color, steady pulse, his respiratory rate is fine, and his blood pressure is good, but when Peter raised the patient, it didn’t impact his face. That`s an awesome test to see if a person has the senses are in a normal status. That man had couple of days giving trouble to the nurses. They received another 911 call from a man that was shot in his leg. The man was drunk and he said that somebody shot at him, but he was lying because he only hit himself when he was walking. There was a third 911 call from a firefighter who felt down from the ladder. The firefighter didn`t want a wheelchair, he walked in the hospital by himself. He didn`t hit his head, only his shoulder. Another 911 call was from a mom. She called to say that her baby broke her teeth, but Peter told her that it wasn`t an emergency. If her health issurance cover the HMO, Peter could carry the baby to the hospital.

“My Dream House’’
I always think about how my dream house will be. I want a house in a quiet neighborhood and a big property. It will have three bedrooms each one with a bathroom, but the principal bedroom is going to have a Jacuzzi in the bathroom. The kitchen will have an aluminum counter top. The living room will have a 60 inch curved smart TV and comfortable seats. The dining room will have a big dining table for up to six people. The garage will have space for three cars and for much other stuff. The backyard will have a pool and a barbecue system. The house will have Wi-Fi with a very high range. It will have hidden security cameras and to unlock the main door will require your fingerprint. This is my dream house.

Classification Essay
This essay is going to be about three different kinds of jobs. These are helping jobs, orderly mechanical jobs and solve problem jobs.
I’m going to explain a helping job that I’m interested in. Being a flight attendant is an awesome job because they travel and meet new people every day. The flight attendant work is to make the passengers comfortable inside the plane and help them if an emergency happen because the pilot attends the cockpit, but the flight attendants attend the passengers by bringing food, helping them and giving first aid if it’s necessary.
Orderly mechanical field. I don’t think there are really good jobs. I’m not interested to be a cashier, but it is hard job because you work with money every day and it’s easy to you to be a victim of an assault. It depends of what kind of cashier you are. For example: there are banks cashier, supermarket cashier, etc…
I like the problem solving jobs because I like to use my brain and solve problem with it. The job that I’m interested is detective. The detectives look for a clue in the crime scene. They want to know how the crime happened, how the victim dead… It is a cool job because they use an undercover police car and shotguns. The detectives are like the bosses from the police officers.
Pilot-How is connected to all of these. The pilot job is connected to orderly mechanical jobs because they have to make an estimate of the time and fuel of the flight, and the pilots have to apply their knowledge to those calculi. Also this job is connected to solve problem jobs because they first have know how the weather will be and the decide if they can fly or not. Another thing of this job is the pilots have to adapt the aircraft for the weather that they are flying. For example: if there is a heavy crosswind, the pilot decide the aircraft can land or not. I know that is hard and expensive to do it, but if you want you can. This is a non-specific time job because it depends on the weather and in the aircraft that you fly. The pilots start earning once they turn on the engines.
In this essay I talked about the different kind of jobs and their description. These jobs were flight attendant, pilot and detective. Those jobs are the most interested for me, but the first I want to be is airline pilot.

Make sure that the ignition, avionics power switch and the avionics master switch are off. Turn on the master switch. Check the fuel quantity indicator. Extend the flaps fully. If this checklist is completed, you are able to follow the next step.
Secondly, you have to complete the before start engine checklist. In this checklist you have to make sure that the preflight inspection is completed. Follow these steps: Give a brief to the passengers because they have to know how long the flight is going to be. Adjust and lock the seats and belts. Doors have to be closed and locked. Next, test the brakes. Next, check that the circuit breakers are all in. Next, check the autopilot and the avionics power switch are off. Then, switch the fuel selector valve to both tanks. Finally, make sure that the fuel shutoff valve is on (in). If you complete this check successfully, you are able to follow the next step.
Next, you are able to start up the engine. To start the engine, you have to open the throttle ¼ inches, and have a rich mixture of air and gas. The aux fuel pump has to be on. The propeller area has to be clear. The master switch and the beacon light have to be on. Next, start up the engine. When the engine turns on, you have to adjust the throttle to 1000 RPM, and check the oil pressure to make sure that the engine is working correctly. Next, turn off the aux fuel pump. Then, turn on the avionics and radio. Finally, you are ready to taxi to the active runway. This step is done, follow the next one.
Then, you are able to do the before take-off checklist. Set the parking brake. Make sure that the cabin doors are closed and locked. Verify that every passenger has their seatbelt fastened. Check to make sure the flight controls are free and correct. Set the airplane and navigation instruments for take-off. Check the fuel quantity. Check that the fuel shutoff valve is on. The mixture has to be rich (full in). Check the fuel selector valve is engaged to both tanks. Set the elevator trim for take-off. Set the throttle to 1800 RPM. Check the magnetos, suction gage and engine instruments. Set the mixture for density altitude. Turn on the carburetor heat. Set the throttle to 1000 RPM. Adjust the throttle friction. Turn on the strobe lights. Next, set the radios and the avionics. Next, make sure that the autopilot is off. Next, set the flaps for take-off (0`-10` degrees). Then, release the parking brake. Finally, make sure that the windows are closed.
Finally, to complete a successful take-off you have to finish this checklist. Raise the flaps. Set the transponder in the altitude requested. Push the throttle to full (Full in). Check the tachometer, oil and airspeed. Push back at 55 knots and climb between 70-80 knots. You have got a successful take-off.
In conclusion, if you follow these steps in this chronological order, you can complete a successful short field take-off in Cessna 172. But remember, in this instructional short field take-off, the pilot must have experience with a flight instructor, and don’t forget, the speed of the approach can change depending on the weather.

“CAT-W Essay”
According to the article “In Groups We Shrink” written by Carol Travis, is about how people react when they are alone and in groups. She made to experiments. The first one is about smoke coming into a room by the vents. The second is about people in a room listening a loud crashing and a woman screaming.
I agree with the article because it talks about a real thing that humans do. When humans are alone in a room, they react quickly because they don’t see anybody that can solve the problem or save them life. In the other hand, when they are in a groups they ignore the problem and think that the people that are with them are going to solve the problem. They just keep doing their tasks, for example: if there is a group in a room and they see smoke coming inside the room, they keep doing what they are doing. They just wait for one of their partner reaction to solve the problem. Sometimes when they react it is too late because the room is full of smoke.

“Software Engineer”
This profile is about Dzuedet Hadziosmanovic. He is a software engineer. A software engineer is someone who creates and develops software for computers. They work long-term assignments. Mr. Hadziosmanovic translates real world into numbers. Now, Dzuedet lives in The United States, but he used to live in Sarajevo, Bosnia. He has been engineering software since 1984. His first job was in the department for mathematical modeling.
Dzuedet looks the differences between work in Bosnia and work in The United States. On one hand, he has his own car and house. In Bosnia he didn’t. On the other hand, He works ten to twelve hours a day. In Bosnia he worked five hours a day. Finally, in Bosnia he lived near his family. Overall, Dzuedet likes his job, but he prefers to live in Bosnia. He prefers to have more free time, like he did. He says that Americans only think in parties. Mr. Hadziosmanovic says that to compare the quality of life between Bosnia and The United States it is too hard because both have advantages and disadvantages.
I like that kind of jobs, but he works too much in a day. I would like to be a software engineer because I really like technology. Also, nowadays a lot of companies are hiring software engineers because they are updating their systems from analog to virtual, for example: create a web page for the company or store, develop specific software and a lot things that can take the real world into numbers or virtually. This career is not just about computers and software. You can also work with electrical systems. To conclude, software engineering is an excellent job and career.

‘‘Hello, my name is…’’
The name of this event was ‘‘Hello, my name is…’’. The presenter was Linda Ostrowe. The presentation was in the humanities building in room 436, from 12:30 P.m. to 1:30 P.m. This presentation was helpful for people who wanted to meet new and didn’t now how to do it.
The presentation was in the humanities building in room 436. I got there by foot with my classmates Angie, Erin and Marvin. The mood of the event was happy because the speaker always tried to have a sense of humor, interact with the audience and give examples from real life. She always said that her presentation is not a class, so the audience can’t write all she say. I like this kind of presentation because it’s a fully interactive presentation. The audience made like 90% of the class, and she only helped the audience to understand the ideas. There were around 16 people, most of them were college students.
The information presented was about how to meet new people and how to introduce your self. The lecture was a question and answer presentation. We dicussed how to meet new people. You can meet new people by classmates, activities, events, social networking, jobs, parties, religious centers, gym, library, student building, friend of friend, family, etc… We also discussed about what are some themes to talk about to meet new people. The topics are weather, current news, sports, music, clothing, education, jobs, common interests, movies, personal problems, celebrities, future plans, holidays, events, video games, technology, politics, religion, cars, sexuality, pets, food, etc… I think this was helpful counseling event, but I can’t explain it well. You have to live that experience with a group to understand the presentation better.
There wasn’t no new information. I knew the information, but I didn’t know how to use it in my life. I wasn’t surprised about anything because I have took psicology classes. I liked the experience because I liked the way that the presenter used to teach. This information can help me in college in a good way. I learned how to be polite with others.

This essay will explain different cases of burnout. Burnout have a lot of meanings, it depends in the context used. You can get burnout by not getting enough sleep, working too much; work in a high pressure environment, taking too many responsibilities… Burnout is everywhere like schools, workplace… It is a problem because you stressed yourself.
As an online article says written by Melinda Smith, Jeanne Segal and Robert Segal in October 2014, burnout is a state of emotional, mental and physical exhaustion caused by excessive and prolonged stress. Burnout can be prevented by starting the day with a ritual, adopt healthy, exercising and sleeping, learn how to manage your stress and take a daily brake for technology. There are signs or symptoms of burnout, this are: felling tired, feeling sick a lot, loss of motivation, frequent headaches, feeling alone in the world and change of appetite or sleeping habits. The causes of burnout are working in a high pressure environment, pessimistic view of the world and taking too many responsibilities. There are many differences between stress and burnout. If it is stress the primary damage is physical and loss of energy. In the other hand, if it is burnout the primary damage is emotional and loss of motivation.
In page 165, Peter says if I book off once, then it will be easier for the next time to book off. In this chapter, Peter means that if you miss one day of work, for the next time will be easier to miss other day of work. Peter solved this problem by always been optimistic and if you think a day to don’t go work, you have to do it at least you are sick.
In page 195, there is a quote. It says will I be a good teacher? Will I be someone to look up to? Will I soar above the city or will I crash in flames? .In this quotes Peter is asking himself if he is going to be a good teacher, or he is going to be someone to follow his steps.
In this chapter, Peter did his best. He was the instructor of Rebecca.
In the chapter “Asthma’’, Peter narrates about a 30 years old woman that was suffering from asthma. The woman was in the border of live or dies, but Peter wanted the patient alive. Peter did all his techniques as a paramedic and none of those techniques had a good response, only the final one had an excellent response. When Peter intubated the 30 years old woman that showed a good result.
In a NPR article “Preventing working burnout can boost the bottom line.” A Virginia software company says that employees can take as many sick days paid as they want. Wist Office Products in Phoenix says that they rotate and switch jobs when employees are suffering from burnout. Pongon says that they change their employees schedule to do the job not as a routine.
When I was in high school in my junior year and my senior year I suffered from burnout. The teachers assigned me a lot of homework, things to do in class and test. Sometimes i got confused about the assignments. I survived from burnout. I solved this problem by doing all my tasks and at the end of the semester I clear my mind and relax.
We have learned different cases about burnout. Burnout is a unique problem, but it has many ways to solve it, overcome it or prevent it. I talked about burnout from the book “Rescue 471”, a NPR article, an online article and my personal experience about it. I learn from Peter Canning many examples of burnout and how to overcome it. In the online article I learn what is burnout, symptoms, causes, preventions and more things. From the NPR article I learned how to prevent burnout and what the bosses do to prevent their employees. Finally, in my personal experience I supported an example of burnout in my life and how did I solve it.
